I've always introduced myself as a soul of an artist that resides in a marketer’s body. 

 

I’ve always loved art, and I’ve always loved advertising.

  

Even as a small girl, I experienced TV with hypnotized eyes. And it wasn't just the cartoons. It was the commercials—visuals, copy, creative thought process; all of it fascinated me. 

 

So I never had trouble with the “What do you want to do when you grow up?” thing. I always wanted to work in the art field. (But never thought I would end up as a Marketer).

 

I have been a square peg in a round hole all through my academic years. And perhaps a somewhat loner child at school who got attracted towards art to express her thoughts. My Mom discovered my talent and enrolled me in a “Fine Arts College”. It was during this phase, I got passionate about Advertising & Graphic designing.

Soon after completing Fine Arts in 2004, I started working for various agencies to learn the finer crafts of Designing  & Advertising.

In December 2010, after almost completing 6 years in Advertising, life started down a path I could have never imagined. I stumbled across an opportunity to work with RIL (Reliance Industries Limited) something my family (especially my father) would be proud of—and I ultimately took a leap of faith to join the Brand side of Advertising.

 

I considered my time at RIL to be my “MBA” in my ways, where I got an exciting opportunity to expand my horizons as a marketer, deepening my understanding of industry best practices, and growing my appetite to be the best at my craft.

 

While I was busy in establishing myself as a marketer, I got yet another opportunity to bridging the gap between sports and business to build a strong sports ecosystem in the country. In June 2015 I became the inaugural Co-Founder at JP Sports & Events, a burgeoning sports event company driven by a strong purpose of transforming India into a sporting nation by designing and organizing professionally managed sports events for the communities, corporates and institutions across India.

 

The many hats I have worn from graphic design to Marcom professional to co-founder of a sports event management company continue to feed my fire. I dream that the stories I get the privilege to bring to life never burn out.

And, I’m still more than these things. I’m years of experience. And I’ll be more things yet to come.

 

When not working, you can find me teasing & spending time with my baby sister Aarya (my niece), reading books, writing or painting.
